MAINTENANCE
Regular servicing is the key to the longevity of your cars major components. Using quality parts and lubricants is our promise to you. We do not use poor quality parts and lubricants on your prized possession. Our brand of choice in lubricants is Valvoline. Know what I mean. Ryco is our main brand of choice in filters. Bendix is our first choice in brake pads and shoes.
TUNING & BRAKES
Most modern cars have the ability to adjust themselves, ( on the fly or as you drive ) based on the driving style of the owner or driver, so tuning is less frequently required. Having said that, they still need tuning adjustments when the driving syle falls outside its self tuning perameters.
Older cars, need an old school approach. Tuning carburettors is a dieing art. Ask most mechanics to tune a carby for you, and all you will get is a blank face. We grew up on tuning cars by hand and ear, so this is not an issue for us.
Braking systems in cars, need to be in tip top condition, regardless of the age of the car. Without properly adjusted brakes, an accident is just a matter of time. We will give you an obligation free appraisal of your cars braking efficiancy at you next service. It's part of our safety check we do at every service interval.
CAR SERVICING
​Servicing your car on a regular basis will only add to its overall life, and also helps its resale value when you decide to update it. Having a log book ( owners service book ) stamped at the scheduled intervals ,only adds value for the new owner, knowing that their new purchase has been well maintained by its previous owner.
All lubricants have a limited effectiveness life, once they have been added to your car.
Engine oil, added to your car, over time, will become contaminated, as it is exposed to the combustion chamber. Changing the oil and filter regularly removes those contaminants.
Wheather you car needs a major or minor service, we are happy to perform its scheduled service or even an intermittent one if you do not do too many kms per year.
WHEELS & SUSPENSION
​Wheels and tyres are not just the bling bling items that appear on reality tv shows. They are an important part of your cars handling and stability. Correctly fitted wheel and tyres are also an important part of the safety of a car.
We at Argus Automotive check the condition of our customers wheels and tyres at every service, price out replacement cost and the time that will be needed, if they need replacement. We have close ties with our local tyre agent and get the best price possible as a guide. No obligation.
Suspension components are mainly made of rubber and over time rubber perishes.
At every service interval, we check the vehicles suspension performance and components and advise our customers of their condition. The replacement mounts / bushes are not often expensive and can be replaced whilst the vehicle is being serviced.
